This event is part of a series of Skill Share Socials for people who live or work in Collier Row.
The Collier Row Skill Share Socials project is a year long creative residency by Havering based creative Lucy McDonald, funded by Havering Changing and supported by The Romford Change Makers (a steering group of local residents).
Find out more about the project and join the Facebook group here.
At the start of 2023 Lucy hosted drop ins across Collier Row to meet people, find out what skills they had to offer their community, and what skills people wanted to learn. From this a series of social sessions have been created with the aim to create a regular space throughout 2023/24 for people to come along to meet each other and exchange their skills, interests and hobbies.
During this 3 hour session you can have a go at a range of skills and you will be guided every step of the way, so no need to worry if you are a complete beginner, this is a chance to try something out and get tips and tricks from those that are well practiced in their skill.
This month’s Skill Share will host the following activities:
Crochet and knitting with Mary, learn the basics of Crochet and or knitting, be inspired by Mary’s impressive makes and ask her any questions about your own projects. When learning with Mary you dont just get years of experience you are guaranteed some laughs too!
Card making with Joan, join talented local Joan to create a card to gift to someone special or for yourself. Joan will guide you every step of the way, so you can create your own beautifully unique card.
Games with Danny and Mick, join the games table to play cards and other table top games, the perfect skill to bring people together and have a giggle. If you have any games, including board games, that you would like to bring along to play with your community please do.
