Havering Volunteer Centre runs a wonderful service across the Borough. I think they achieve just the right balance. When I arrived in Havering, they were key in helping me to establish volunteer programmes within my organisation.

Havering Volunteer Centre have sourced the most remarkable volunteers for my team – which is not an easy sell as the role is emotionally demanding and by no means easy.  The team at HVC are always very helpful and co-operative and it is a pleasure to be working alongside such a proactive and supportive organisation.

Would you like to join our bi-monthly Voluntary Sector Forum?

It is an informal group that provides a safe space for Voluntary Sector Members to come together to share their knowledge and experience. It’s a useful networking forum.

By joining the Voluntary Sector Forum, organisations can benefit from:

  1.  Networking: Connect with like-minded people, share experiences, good practice, inform peer about your service provisions and learn from each other.
  2. Influencing: Contribute towards the development of local issues, policies and practices, propose agenda items, guest speakers, discussion topics and themes for research
  3. Resource Sharing: Gain access to a wealth of resources and information from other participants.
  4.  Problem Solving: Engage in discussions about common challenges faced in the Voluntary Sector. Benefit from the “collective wisdom” of either the experienced professionals or those who have just started afresh and are tackling similar issues and challenges.
  5.  Inspiration: Be inspired by success stories of others, innovative approaches, achievements. This often inspires or motivates organisations to implement new strategies, to result in better services and improved volunteer strategies.
  6. Collaboration: Have the opportunity to work in partnership on projects or develop new ideas and ways of working together.
