Check in & Chat Telephone Befriending Service
The Check-in & Chat service was born out of a need for free social interaction during the lockdown stages of the pandemic. Those who usually sought their social interactions via their local shop, pharmacist or GP could no longer venture out due to government restrictions and therefore plummeted into isolation.
What was and is still unique about the service HVC offers is that there is no criteria, you don’t have to be over a certain age or from a certain background because loneliness and isolation isn’t prejudice, it can affect anyone at any point in their lifetime.

Foodbank Voucher Issuing Agent
Havering Volunteer Centre partners all three Trussel Trust foodbanks in Havering, Collier Row & Romford, Harold Hill and Rainham. We can issue an emergency foodbank voucher if you find yourself in need by calling 01708 922 214.
We will need to take some details from you, ask some questions to understand what you require and then advise you over the phone about the foodbank requirements and issuing information.
Please be aware that voucher quantities are limited across the Trussel Trust systems and if you have been advised that you have reached your quantity limit, it does mean that this quota has been reached across all agencies.
