About this event

What issues are female filmmakers addressing given that in a post-covid world many women have folded up their directors chairs? As she approaches her ten year anniversary working in film Nicole discusses her own adventures in the industry, including what it means to be a female director, the challenges and adaptation in times of disaster and what drove Nicole to become a director.

She will discuss what it takes to truly write from the heart and how important it is to wear many hats in an ever changing world, also opening a conversation about what is next for gender equity in the industry.

Nicole Pott is a director and writer, making films about freedom seeking mavericks. She is the director of award-winning short films Kaleidoscope (2019), Powerless (2020) and Asphyxiate (2020). Nicole is well-versed in creating meaningful, heart wrenching films with relatable, exciting and powerful lead characters that keep viewers gripped. She is in development for her feature film ‘Obsession’, which is her second feature following her student feature ‘In a Year’, which was selected at various film festivals in 2016.

This important discussion is ideal for anyone looking to make a first step into the world of filmmaking, whatever hat they choose to wear.
