Her son and his new girlfriend are coming to dinner\, her best friend is asking questions\, and then there’s the neighbour with the gold trainers… Perhaps it’s time everyone learnt a bit more about some family secrets? This world premiere by award-winning theatre\, TV and radio writer Frances Poet is a warm\, humorous and uplifting story\, infused with familiar music\, all about enduring love. \nTo book\, please call 01708 443333\, or you can email access@queens-theatre.co.uk \nWhat is a Dementia Friendly Performance? \nWho may benefit from a Dementia Friendly performance? \nDementia-friendly performances are tailored for people with dementia and their families or carers\, so that they can enjoy live performance in an environment that is comfortable and supportive. \nWhat makes a Dementia Friendly performance different? \n\nBright lighting and loud noises will be reduced.\nThe lights in the theatre will remain on low throughout the show.\nA relaxed attitude to people moving around the theatre\, leaving and returning whenever they need to.\nA relaxed attitude to people making noise during the show.\nAn information pack will be sent in advance with an easy-to-read synopsis and guide to the theatre.\nA quiet space will be available if people need a break.\nExtra members of our friendly staff on hand to help.\nYou can ask to have empty seats around your booking\n\nWhat if I can’t sit through the show? \nNot a problem. \nThere will be a relaxed attitude to anyone needing to move around the auditorium space. You are also free to leave and return whenever needed during the show. Low lighting will remain on in the auditorium during the performance so you will be able to comfortably move around the area. \nNoise is also not a problem\, we understand that some people may need to talk\, fidget\, vocalise\, or stim while you are with us. \nIf anyone needs a break during the show\, we have a designated quiet area outside of the auditorium for you to visit. \nWill the staff be understanding? \nYes\, all front of house staff will have attended a Dementia Friends information session and both the staff working that day and the actors are given an additional in-house briefing before the show. As she approaches her ten year anniversary working in film Nicole discusses her own adventures in the industry\, including what it means to be a female director\, the challenges and adaptation in times of disaster and what drove Nicole to become a director. \nShe will discuss what it takes to truly write from the heart and how important it is to wear many hats in an ever changing world\, also opening a conversation about what is next for gender equity in the industry. \nNicole Pott is a director and writer\, making films about freedom seeking mavericks. She is the director of award-winning short films Kaleidoscope (2019)\, Powerless (2020) and Asphyxiate (2020). Nicole is well-versed in creating meaningful\, heart wrenching films with relatable\, exciting and powerful lead characters that keep viewers gripped. She is in development for her feature film ‘Obsession’\, which is her second feature following her student feature ‘In a Year’\, which was selected at various film festivals in 2016. \nThis important discussion is ideal for anyone looking to make a first step into the world of filmmaking\, whatever hat they choose to wear. \n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n
