Support With Domestic Abuse

The coronavirus isolation regulations brings new challenges for people experiencing domestic abuse, with victims and survivors who are self-isolating, in some cases, unable to access support or escape abuse at times when they otherwise would.

For anyone who feels they are at risk of abuse or believe someone they know may be, it is important to remember that there is help available from various support services in the borough and Havering Council.

If you are at risk of domestic abuse, make yourself heard through Silent Reporting.

Call 999 and if you are unable to speak to the operator, press 55. Your call will be transferred immediately and police will be sent to your location unless you hang up.

Tools To Support Children Learning From Home

During the coronavirus pandemic, schools are closed for most children who are, like the rest of us, learning and adjusting to life staying at home.

Your child’s school and teachers may have supplied teaching materials to you and are possibly carrying out online learning. If that is the case, you should listen to your child’s school and follow the lesson plans that are being set as much as possible.
This will ensure that your child continues to have a structured day and keeps up with others in their class.

However, during this time we realise that some parents may want more resources to help keep their child busy, active and learning, so The Children’s Commissioner has compiled a list of handy, free online activities and materials to use at home.

Helping Children Understand Coronavirus

The Children’s Commissioner has also created a children’s guide to coronavirus to help explain the situation. The guide aims to answer children’s questions about coronavirus, tell children how to stay safe and protect other people and how to help them make the best of their time at home.

@steiny No one likes to ask for money, from a person aspect it comes across as needy, poor, can't afford with the fear of implying that as an organisation, funding or funds seems as though 'I have something great to offer, I think you'd be intersted' rather than we need cash to deliver

Currently we have received additional funding to support the Covid-19 crisis from
