1st – 7th June is National Volunteers Week and a time where Volunteer Involving Organisations get to say an extra special thank you to all volunteers.
Volunteers Week 2021 is extra special as HVC are celebrating our 5th Birthday and the army of wonderful volunteers who signed up to volunteer and have gone above and beyond throughout Covid-19!

Securing Paid Employment
As a direct result of volunteering 304 individuals that Havering Volunteer Centre have supported went on to secure paid employment.
Saving for the economy of Havering
We know that on average one volunteer will complete 7 hours of volunteering over 1 week. Using GLV’s calculation 3385 volunteers have saved £16.2m
Registered Volunteering Opportunities
Since 2016 Havering Volunteer Centre has registered 915 volunteering opportunities, in many fields.

Since opening our doors in 2016 we have seen a steady interest in volunteering to date, with 6297 individuals having registered to volunteer.

Havering Volunteer Centre (HVC) was founded on 6th October 2015 by the Chief Executive Officer; Shelley Hart and a Trustee Board which consisted of local people with skills, knowledge and experience of the voluntary, public and private sectors
HVC is the only licenced Volunteer Centre operating in Havering and works within the recognised Quality Accreditation Scheme operated by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), who are the national body for Volunteer Centre’s, with HVC attaining accreditation status in 2019. HVC recognises the importance of obtaining accreditations and will continue to strive to achieve these recognised standards and maintain its excellent standing in the voluntary sector.
